Boobies, Bell-Bottoms and Beelzebub: The Disco Exorcist

It should really be "boobies, bell-bottoms and Ba‘al Zəbûl" (Lord of the Heavenly Dwelling/Ba'al the Prince) since that was his real name.  Beelzebub (Lord of Flies) was given as a derogatory name to the Philistine god/demon by the Jews implying that the deity was shit and his followers swarmed about him like flies.  Only in later Christian texts was Beelzebub thought of as Satan, which is how most of us know him today.

And people said majoring in Religious Studies would be useless...

Now The Disco Exorcist.  It seems people have been jizzing in their pants for quite some time waiting for this exploitation throwback to come out, and now the wait is almost over.  It's scheduled to be released on DVD on June 19.

For some reason this one just doesn't appeal to me.  Maybe it seems like they're trying too hard.

Rex Romanski (Michael Reed) is a disco swinger of the late ’70′s. His “love ‘em and leave ‘em” attitude finally gets him into real trouble when he brings his charms to bear on Rita Marie Deveaux (Ruth Sullivan), a voodoo priestess with a mean streak a mile wide. Rita’s curse falls most heavily on Rex’s new flame, an adult film starlet named Amoreena Jones (Sarah Nicklin), who is possessed by the violent spirit of a voodoo demon and causes a rampage of bloody destruction that only Rex Romanski, the Disco Exorcist, can stop!
