Have you ever been listening to a song and you hear a sample of movie dialogue and you say to yourself, "Hey! I know what movie that line is from! I'm the smartest person who has ever lived!" Well, this rarely happens to me. Usually it's the other way around. I'll be watching a movie and hear some dialogue and think, "I've heard this in a song before! I'm the smartest person who has ever lived!"
Rob Zombie is a well known example of someone who often uses dialogue from classic horror and exploitation films in his songs, and I guess sometimes he also uses Diane Sawyer interviews. I remember watching one such interview on TV about the Manson Family and their murderous rampage, and Patricia Krenwinkle was talking about her participation in the slaying of Sharon Tate when she nonchalantly commented, "Yeah I remember her saying 'I'm already dead.' " which is the intro to White Zombie's "Real Solution #9", and I almost spit out my malt liquor because it was so unexpected.
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult is another band that samples lot of dialogue from obscure cult and exploitation movies and places it strategically in their music, and one of those movies is the demented Mexican horror Alucarda. You can see the original dialogue in the first video and then what My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult did with it in the second.
And here's "A Daisy Chain 4 Satan" just because I think it's a great song and video.

Rob Zombie Trusts Woolite
I thought everyone already knew about this but after talking to a friend the other day who hadn't, I realized that other people may actually have lives. So for all of you who have productive things to do with your time and haven't already heard, Rob Zombie has directed a commercial for Woolite. Yes, Woolite.
From his official movie production blog:
And here are a few of those shots.

Grindhouse News: Rob Zombie's The Lords of Salem
In a previous post I had mentioned that director Rob Zombie had scrapped plans for a remake of the 1958 science fiction/horror classic The Blob in order to work on an original project. We now know what that project is.
The Lords of Salem, as you have probably guessed, is about witches and is taken from a song with the same name off Zombie's 2006 album "Educated Horses." From the little that we know about this upcoming film, a coven of witches who were executed during the witch trials of Salem, Massachusetts in 1692 return to the present day to exact their revenge on the town. According to Rob Zombie via /Film:

According to Rob Zombie via /Film:
There were twenty people that everyone knows about – obviously all innocent – executed as witches in Salem. The basic premise of the film is that there were a further four who actually were witches, who were killed secretly, and vowed one day to return to wreak havoc on Salem’s descendants. That’s when the movie jumps ahead to the present day and things start to go wrong…Zombie has also mentioned that this will be his "bleakest" film yet, which if you've seen his other movies should have you worried... in a good way. Shooting will begin mid-April.

This is My Mecca!
You guys confuse me. I put up a poll a little while ago to determine which of Quentin Tarantino's movies you liked the least. I thought for sure that Jackie Brown or Death Proof would easily come out on top. Instead, you guys chose Inglourious Basterds which I thought was one of his best films. Oh well.
Today we have one of the last of the fake trailers from the Tarantino/Rodriguez double feature Grindhouse. This one was directed by Rob Zombie and features one of Nicolas Cage's finest performances. As far as I know there are no plans to make this into an actual film but I'd definitely like to see it if they ever did. Not too long ago Rob Zombie was working on a remake of The Blob but it seems he abandoned that project to work on an original idea. I hope it's better than his last couple of films.
Here's the fake trailer and like most of the other trailers from Grindhouse, it's very NSFW.
Oh Udo Kier, why do you get no respect...
*UPDATE: Rob Zombie's new movie will be The Lords of Salem and will star Sheri Moon Zombie.
